Getting Started


Welcome to GPS Tracking for IronDog ™ World's Longest Toughest Snowmobile Race 2012!
To get started viewing the race, you should pick some racers to view on the map. You can do this by using the drop-down in the 'Choose Your Racers' Control Box.
Once you have Racers added to you view, you can click on their Icon to see more detailed information about the racer.

Countdown to Update

  1. Positions will automatically update every 6 minutes. If you would like to shut off the automatic update, toggle the 'Racers Positions Auto-Refresh' in the control box below.


Race Time Controls

  1. Racers Positions Auto-Refresh: You can turn off auto-refresh by toggling the radio button from 'On' to 'Off'. This is useful when viewing historical data while searching through the race times.
  2. Time Controls: Use the Race Time Controls to cycle to: Begining of the Race, Go Back one time slot, Go forward one time slot, Go to the end of the Race
  3. Time Drop-Down: You can choose any time slot during the race using the time drop-down control.


Map Zoom Controls

  1. Zoom to Course Use this button to zoom out to the map. In most cases this is used to zoom out after you have zoomed in to view an individual racer or group of racers.
  2. Zoom to Racer(s): This button zooms your view in for a close-up of a racer or a group of racers you are watching. This is especially beneficial when you have history trails on allowing you to see a racer's last 10 position points.


Choose Your Racers

  1. Add by Racer: The 'Add by Racers' drop-down allows you to add racers individually to the map. You can choose as many racer(s) to watch as you like.


Selected Racers

  1. Racer Grid: Once you have chosen the racers you wish to view you can single click the Column Headers to sort the Racer Grid (ex: #,Name,Mile,Mph). Clicking on the racer's name will open a pop-up on the racer's marker which allows you to view a racer's details. Also, you can choose to toggle history trails which shows a racer's last 10 position points. If you wish to remove a racer from the map, use the red from the racer's row in the Racer Grid.
  2. iPad Users: Please use the 'Two Finger Scrolling Method' to scroll the racers up/down.


LeaderView Grid


Please Note: The LeaderView represents a RACER'S POSITION ON THE COURSE. This is an unofficial representation and meant for informational purposes only. The Progress Column in the LeaderView Grid represents the Racer's total percentage of course completed. The Racer's Postion on the Course does not represent the Race's Overall Leader, Place or Winner.


LeaderView Grid

  1. Racer Position Time: This displays the time when the positions where last updated. The time will automatically update every 6 minutes and this automatically updates the LeaderView Grid Data.
